Competitions London Archers' Club Colours make their first outing – Feb 2006 On Sunday 5th February 2006, the London Archer’s new club colours made their first public appearance at the Kestrels Worcester Tournament in Bedfordshire. The tournament organisers and a number of local archers commented how good the shirts looked and how nice it was that teams were now turning up with colours. In addition, it was noted that we looked like a "proper team". Unfortunately some wayward shooting and equipment failure meant that we did not quite live up to the "proper team" label, finishing third in the recurve team competition (Ian McGibbon, Tim Sheldon, Andrew Rosenstein and Jill Rennie making up the team). However, novice Nicola Waters put in a good performance in her first indoor tournament finishing just a few points behind Jill. Ian finished second in the Gents recurve with a respectable 291 and David Spinner won the Gents compound category with 297. LA's successful defence of the Pudding clout – Jan 2006This year’s pudding clout was held on Bank Holiday Monday rather than the traditional New Year’s day and saw quite a large turnout. London Archers were again victorious with the team consisting of Adam Jenkins, Shaun D'Souza, Ian Millar and Rob the Kiwi. Adam Jenkins retained his individual title, giving a sound thrashing to his closest rival. Other London Archers shot respectable scores except for David Spinner who managed a single point in the last end. Competitions main page |
